Experienced Hires at BCG

At BCG, an ‘Experienced Hire’ Associate or Consultant refers to an applicant who is a working professional (i.e., not currently pursuing a degree). Please apply to the one role that best aligns with your background so we can carefully review your candidacy. We value diversity of experiences and backgrounds, so, whether you have a few years of experience or an established career, you will be able to apply your knowledge and skills to this role at BCG. 

Associate Role

At BCG, Associates typically bring 0–4 years of full-time work experience. Whether you're early in your career or transitioning from a different path, we value the diverse skills and perspectives you offer. Previous consulting experience is not required—we welcome a range of backgrounds and industries. If you’re excited to grow, learn, and make an impact, the Associate role could be the perfect fit. Our comprehensive onboarding and training programs will support your success from day one.

Consultant Role 

Consultants at BCG generally have 4+ years of professional experience and/or an advanced degree (such as an MBA or PhD). If you’ve built depth in a field or function and are ready to bring your expertise to complex, strategic challenges, the Consultant role may be right for you. Prior consulting experience is valued but not essential. We believe the unique perspective you bring is what matters most—and we’ll ensure you’re set up to thrive through tailored training and support.

Our Application Process

  • Completed/conferred Bachelor's degree (required) 
  • Available to start within 3-4 months 
  • 0-4 years of full-time work experience (Associate) or 4+ years of full-time work experience (Consultant)

  • Submit the online application, including an up-to-date resume 
  • Have your most recent test scores and GPA readily available 
  • All application steps must be completed for an application to be considered 

  • You can select up to two office preferences 
  • Office preference is a personal decision; most importantly, apply where you want to live 
  • Offices’ hiring needs change throughout the year; only the offices listed in the job posting are actively hiring 

  • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis 
  • If your experience and timeline align with our needs, a Talent Acquisition team member will reach out via email regarding next steps 
  • If you are invited to interview, please note that all interviews are case interviews (see FAQ document for more details)
