About the program
If you’re in your final year (or already completed your studies within the last 3 years), and ready to launch your career with us, this program is for you!
We look for graduates with academic backgrounds across numerous disciplines, from business to humanities to science and more.
Hands-on learning, support from your team, and innovative training programs from day one will allow for a smooth transition from the classroom to the real world of business.
Teams are small and the learning curve is steep while being supported in a deeply collaborative environment. The experience is unparalleled. We work both hard and smart as we partner closely with clients on solutions together.

BCG Australia and New Zealand Graduate Application Process
Graduates join BCG as Associates in our Consulting team. You can submit your application online using “Apply Now”.
You will be asked to select up to two offices of your choice in order of preference. To be considered for BCG within Australia or New Zealand, you must select either Auckland, Canberra, Melbourne, Perth, or Sydney as your first office preference. Our internship opportunities are only available to overseas MBA students.
Our selection process has several stages to help us learn about you, and for you to learn more about BCG and a career in consulting:
- After submitting your online application, eligible candidates will receive an invitation to complete our online case assessment.
- Our team will review your application and case assessment before shortlisting successful candidates for first-round case interviews.
- Case study interviews are different from behavioural-based interviews and to help you prepare for them, you’ll be invited to attend one of our Case Study Workshops either in person or virtually.
- After the first round of interviews, we’ll let you know straight away whether you’ve been selected to come back for our final interviews. These will be held the week after the first round of interviews.
What we look for
Your online application should include your CV, cover letter, and academic transcripts uploaded as one document. Upload this where you are asked to upload your CV.
We want to get to know you, so please make sure you have information in your cover letter and CV about things you're passionate about and why BCG is a great career fit for you. As a guide, we'd like to see details about:
- Any work experience that you have had. We are seeking motivated individuals who can showcase a strong career trajectory and a high level of impact in the roles they have held – including retail, hospitality, or internships.
- Your extra-curricular activities, whether on campus or outside of university life. Have you played sports extensively, or are you involved in a hobby that takes up a lot of your time? We look for individuals who demonstrate impact and legacy, significant contribution, and high levels of commitment, initiative, and responsibility.
- Your academic credentials. For Associate applications, you should be in your final year of undergraduate or postgraduate studies or have already graduated from a degree with no more than 1-3 years of work experience. For our Scholarship Program, you must be in the penultimate year of your undergraduate studies (or Master's degrees, excluding MBA). Please include details of prizes or scholarships you've attained.
- Work eligibility: We can only consider candidates who currently hold Australian or New Zealand citizenship or are an Australian permanent resident.
