Regardless of your field of study, now you have the chance to experience how to design and run such a business. Test your management skills in an international setting and win 3,000 euros.

About the competition
The BCG Strategy Cup is a team-based strategic game taking place in person over the course of an entire weekend, giving you the opportunity to discover consulting first-hand. 
From April 1 to 3, you will be working in our office as part of a 
diverse, multinational team in a real-life setting, facilitated by BCG consultants, solving a sustainbility-related business problem
You will have the chance to experience with us first-hand how consultants create impact and learn new skills. Receive expert advice and feedback on your problem-solving, teamwork, and presentation skills!

  • The most outstanding student in team contribution, presentation, and overall skills will be offered a 10-week BCG internship position.
  • Finalists are automatically invited for a 1st-round interview if they decide to apply for an Internship or Full-time position at BCG within a year. 
  • 3,000 euros for the winning team.

Application Criteria

We are looking for native Hungarian-, Croatian-, Serbian-, Romanian- or Slovenian-speaking university students in their 3rd year of bachelor, or 1st & 2nd year of master studies with an affinity for strategy and analytics, with the following additional qualities: 
  • Outstanding academic performance, along with evidence of excellence in extracurricular activities.
  • Ability to quickly comprehend complex materials, a sharp analytical mind, curiosity, inventiveness, and an affinity for numbers as much as for people.
  • Desire to not only understand a situation, but having the will to change it for the better.

Application and selection process timeline 


Upload your CV HERE by February 20, 2022. All students who signed up for the Strategy Cup will be invited to take the  test virtually on March 3 OR March 4.

Although you will compete in teams, the application is to be done individually.  

Complete the problem-solving test on March 3-4, 2022.

The BCG Online Case Experience is a 30-minute online case study with chat-bot Casey, consisting of a mix of quantitative and qualitative questions and also requiring you to take a 1-minute video recording of yourself answering one qualitative question at the end. You may take this online case experience test remotely, from the comfort of your home/university. 


Applicants will be ranked based on the test results AND studies/ professional experiences

After completing the selection process, BCG will establish 8 teams based on your profile to assure diversity and equal chances.

The applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application by March 11, 2022.

The competition will be organized in person, in Budapest, between April 1-3, 2022.

What to expect - Agenda

Kick-off - April 1, 2022
On Friday afternoon, you will participate in an introductory session held by experienced BCG consultants to familiarize with the topic and train you for the next days' challenges. During the evening, you will have the opportunity to get to know your team members, BCG coaches, and other consultants; and also to immediately dive into the first challenge: design an ecosystem to solve a sustainability-related challenge. 
Competition - April 2, 2022
On Saturday you will continue working with your team while being intensively coached by our consultants, becoming fully immersed in the way we work at BCG. The highlight of the day will be war game simulation, where your will have the chance to directly compete against other teams.
Last Day - April 3, 2022
The winners will be announced after the final round on Sunday. Your performance throughout the three days will be evaluated by senior BCGers and experts. The winning team will be the one that gathered the most scores in the various challenges.
