BCG Unlock

BCG Unlock is a summer learning program that introduces incoming MBAs to the insights and experiences that make BCG unique. Through BCG Unlock, you can get a head start on the Fall recruiting internship season, building your skills and growing your network through a series of virtual events. 

If eligible for BCG Unlock, you can expect personal, candid dialogue with BCG consultants and leaders, as well as your pre-MBA peers. You’ll get to explore how our transformational work and digital capabilities help our clients solve the world’s toughest problems. You’ll also hear firsthand from current BCGers about the opportunities, support systems, and tools we offer to help you grow in your career and beyond. Every BCG Unlock conversation is a chance to ask what you’ve always wanted to know about the consulting industry and BCG. 

BCG Unlock programming is optional and virtual, designed to easily fit into your summer schedule even if you are still working full-time.

Eligibility
BCG Unlock participants must be enrolled in a 2-year MBA program, entering their first year in the fall of 2024 and interested in interning in the summer of 2025. Please note, BCG Unlock is not for second-year, one-year, or executive MBAs since it focuses on our internship experience as a path to full-time consulting positions. If you are a dual-degree student (e.g. MD/MBAs, JD/MBAs, etc.), you are eligible to register for Unlock, and we encourage you to do so the spring before you begin the first year of your MBA program.

When registering for BCG Unlock, please use your respective school email if you already have it. We welcome applications from any pre-MBA student but particularly encourage applications from the programs listed below.

BCG Unlock is a virtual program open to admitted MBA students for fall 2025 entry, who want to learn more about consulting and BCG.​ ​

BCG Empower is an invite-only workshop within BCG Unlock. The program will also provide exposure to consultants from our Employee Networks, including the Black+Latinx@BCG and Indigenous Networks, who will share more about their experience in consulting and at BCG.  Through small group sessions, case prep, and social events, participants will get the chance to build a network of mentors and meet other pre-MBA peers, all while learning more about a possible career in consulting at BCG.

All BCG Unlock programming will be virtual. The program is designed to easily fit into your summer schedule, even if you are still working full-time.

Individual sessions for BCG Unlock will vary in length, but most will be between 60 and 90-minutes. Sessions will run from late May through late July 2024 and additional sessions will be recorded and available to watch online. All sessions and programming are fully optional.
BCG Empower is an invite-only workshop within BCG Unlock. Through small group sessions, case prep, and social events, participants will get the chance to build a network of mentors and meet other pre-MBA peers, all while learning more about a possible career in consulting at BCG. ​

BCG Unlock is for all eligible MBA students, whether you're already certain you want to go into consulting, or still figuring out if consulting is for you. We have sessions for everyone and hope that you will find the programming both interesting and informative whether you decide to pursue consulting as a career or not. Registering does not require a commitment to participate or apply to BCG, and it comes at no risk to you.

Office Preference: The BCG Unlock registration process will ask you to include your top three office preferences. Please consider the city or cities where you would like to live after completing your MBA. Should things change, there will be opportunities to update your preferences throughout the recruiting process and these selections are not binding.

If test scores for your MBA program were waived or you applied to a test-optional program, you should select “GMAT overall” from the test scores dropdown and write in “Test scores waived.”
