About the program
If you’re in your final year (or already completed your studies within the last 3 years), and ready to launch your career in Data Science or AI Engineering, this program is for you!
We are looking for graduates with academic backgrounds in computer science, artificial intelligence, data science, machine learning, engineering, mathematics, statistics, physics, or related technical fields—any discipline where data-driven problem-solving and analytical thinking are key.
From day one, you’ll gain hands-on experience, receive support from your team, and benefit from cutting-edge training programs to bridge the gap between academia and real-world AI and data challenges.

BCG X Australia and New Zealand Graduate Application Process
Applications are now open to join BCG X as Data Scientist or AI Engineer in our BCG X Consulting team in 2025/2026.
If you are a penultimate, final-year undergraduate, or postgraduate student pursuing a degree in Data Science, AI Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field, we encourage you to apply.
You can submit your application online using “Apply Now.”
As part of the application, you will be asked to select up to two office locations in order of preference. To be considered for BCG X in Australia or New Zealand, you must select Melbourne, Perth, or Sydney as your first office preference.
What we look for
Your online application should include your CV, cover letter, and academic transcripts uploaded as one document. Please submit this in the section where you are asked to upload your CV.

• Work experience: Whether through internships, research projects, or industry roles, we seek individuals with a strong technical foundation and a track record of impact- whether in software development, machine learning projects, AI research, data analytics, or any relevant field. We also value transferable skills from other roles, including part-time jobs in retail, hospitality, or leadership positions.
• Extracurricular activities: Have you contributed to open-source projects, participated in AI hackathons, been involved in technical clubs, or worked on personal projects in machine learning, robotics, or data science? We seek individuals who demonstrate initiative, commitment, and a passion for problem-solving.
• Academic credentials: For Data Scientist and AI Engineer roles, you should be in your final year of undergraduate or postgraduate studies or have already graduated within the last 1-3 years in a technical field such as computer science, artificial intelligence, data science, engineering, mathematics, statistics, or physics. If you have received prizes, scholarships, or academic distinctions, please include those details.
• Work eligibility: We can only consider candidates who currently hold Australian or New Zealand citizenship or are Australian permanent residents.
Selection Process
1. Online Application & Coding Assessment: After submitting your application our team will review your resume, and eligible candidates will receive an invitation to complete an online coding test.
2. Application Review & Shortlisting: Our team will review your resume and coding assessment before shortlisting candidates for technical and live coding interviews.
3. Interviews:
- First round: Virtual technical interviews, including case studies and live coding challenges.
- Final round: Additional case-based and technical interviews to assess problem-solving and analytical thinking.
