You can also use the Sandy Bot for quick guidance on typical queries. To access Sandy Bot, hover over the bottom right corner of the page and click on the circle icon.

If you still have questions after exploring these resources, please submit them through the mailbox, and our team will get back to you.

Application Submission, Eligibility & Pre-Application Support

To begin your application or register for an event, you’ll first be prompted to sign in or create an account. This involves providing your email address, setting a password, and completing your candidate profile.

Your profile will include key details such as your contact information, location preferences, language skills, education, work experience, and other relevant qualifications. The good news is that once your profile is complete, you won’t need to re-enter this information for future applications.
If you’re experiencing a technical issue or don’t have a recruiting contact, please visit our Candidate Help Page to submit a support ticket. A member of our team will get back to you as soon as possible.

If you've already started the recruiting process, we recommend reaching out directly to your recruiter for assistance. You can also view updates on your application status anytime in the candidate portal under “My Applications.”

The recruiting process at BCG can vary depending on the role and location you're applying to. However, there are a few common steps you can expect.

After submitting your application, our Talent Acquisition team will review your materials to assess your skills and suitability for the role. For some positions, you may be asked to complete an online assessment, and in certain cases, a team member may reach out for an initial conversation to learn more about you.

If your application progresses beyond this stage, you’ll be invited to participate in a series of interviews – either virtual or in-person. The number and structure of these interviews may vary based on the position and region.

Throughout the process, our Talent Acquisition team will support you every step of the way. If successful, you’ll receive an offer to join BCG.

When you create your candidate profile, you’ll be asked to select your office preferences, these are the BCG office locations where you’d ideally like to work. You’ll be asked to confirm or update these preferences each time you submit an application.

Office preferences help us direct your application to the appropriate recruiting team. Some roles are tied to a specific office, while others offer flexibility. Your preferences play a key role in how your application is reviewed, so we strongly recommend they align with the location of the role you’re applying for. For example, if a role is listed as “USA,” please select offices within the U.S. as your preferences.

We also ask a question about relocation in the application. This helps us consider your candidacy beyond your listed preferences, where appropriate.

You may submit up to four applications at a time through the Students’ Portal. Please do not change your office preferences when submitting multiple applications within the same period.

You can review the status of your application by logging in to our candidate portal at here.

Once signed in, select the “My Application” tab to view the status of your application.

It appears that we are no longer accepting applicants for that specific role.

We invite you to log in to our candidate portal here where you can update your profile, search for jobs that match your experience, and explore upcoming events.

Please check that when you added a resume to your profile, it has been added under "Resume" and not "Supporting / Other Document"?

From there, you should be able to apply successfully.

Candidates can access both the "Students" and "Experienced" portals using the same login and can easily toggle between both portals by clicking on the portal name in the main navigation.

You applied to a role that was posted to the "Student" portal, which is why it defaulted to the "Student" portal when you logged in.

The Talent Acquisition team doesn't see which portal your profile is associated with, and this has no impact on our evaluation of your application.

Your applications and events will be mirrored across portals for easy management.

Unfortunately, we are not able to change your application for this particular role to being a referral. For any roles you have yet to apply to, please be sure to use the link provided to you by your referrer and we will be able to capture that application as the role you have been referred to.

We actively encourage you to do this as much as possible, either by attending our recruiting events and speaking with alumni or with current BCGers.

You can also navigate to your local office or campus page to find contact information to speak directly with a representative from your locale.

Application Status & Re-application

You can review the status of your application by logging in to our candidate portal here.

Once signed in, select the “My Application” tab to view the status of your application.

Yes, as soon as you start your application, your progress is auto-saved. If you need to pause and return to your application later, you can find your application again by clicking on “Applications” in the ribbon at the top, and then “Drafts.”

Unfortunately no, you cannot edit your application once it has been submitted. If you believe you have made a mistake, please reach out to your recruiter or visit our Candidate Help Page. Please do not withdraw your application with the intention of reapplying, as you can only apply to each role once.

If you no longer wish to be considered for a role, you can withdraw at any time. Login to your account and navigate to “Applications”. In the “Withdraw Application” column you will see three dots; click on this button and select “Withdraw”. You will not be able to apply for the same job once you’ve withdrawn your application.

The candidate cannot reapply to the same requisition after withdrawing. However, if the role is reposted under a new requisition number, the candidate may apply to the new posting.

We appreciate the time and effort that goes into every application. However, due to the high volume of applications we receive, we’re unfortunately not able to provide individual feedback at the application stage.

If you have progressed to the interview stage, you’re welcome to reach out to your recruiting contact to request feedback.

While we appreciate that you may wish to apply to a role again, we only permit applicants to submit one application per role. We recommend that you visit our career portal here to search for other opportunities that match your skills and experience.

To reset your password, please go to the candidate login page, and click "Forgot password?" below the "Password" field.

Enter your email address, and you should receive an email shortly to create a new password.

Once you've received the email and reset your password, please confirm that you can log in here.

The candidate can request changes by contacting their recruiter. The current offer will need to be rescinded, and a new offer letter issued with the updated details.

Use a personal email address that you will have long-term access to. Do not use a university or school email, as access to these often ends after graduation and may prevent you from receiving important updates about your application. Once your profile is created, your email address cannot be changed. If you lose access to your original email, you will need to create a new profile with a different email address. To help us match your new profile with your previous one, be sure to use the same name and LinkedIn URL. If you require further assistance, please visit our Candidate Help Page to submit a support ticket.

Yes, you can upload your resume, and the system will automatically extract and populate the relevant fields in your profile. We recommend reviewing all the details carefully – especially your education start and end dates, as inaccuracies here can affect your application.

The resume you upload will also be saved and used for future job applications. Don’t worry – you’ll always be asked to confirm that it’s the most up-to-date version before submitting.

During profile creation, you may have consented to BCG retaining your data for an additional 5 years. If you did not provide this consent, your data will be deleted 6 months after a recruiting decision has been made regarding your application. If you created a profile but did not submit an application, your data will be deleted 6 months after the profile was created. If you did consent to extended data retention, BCG may use your information to contact you about future career opportunities or relevant events.

You can include all your educational institutions and associated coursework when creating your candidate profile. However, you’ll be asked to confirm your current or most recent education – including school name, degree, and major – both during profile creation and when applying to a job.
  • If you're pursuing a dual degree or major, select the option that is most applicable.
  • If your exact major isn’t listed, choose the closest relevant field.
  • If you're currently on an exchange program, list your main (home) school.
  • If you're not currently enrolled, provide details of your most recently completed degree.

You may notice certain fields—like your name, phone number, or education—appear exactly as you entered them when you first created your profile. We pre-populate these fields to save you time, but you can still edit any of them while completing the application (for example, updating a preferred first name). When you submit, any changes you made automatically update your profile, ensuring it always reflects your latest information.

BCG has two distinct candidate portals—Students and Experienced—to reflect the different types of roles we offer.

  • The Students portal features roles for current students and recent graduates.
  • The Experienced portal lists opportunities for professionals with prior work experience.

If you think you’re on the wrong portal, don’t worry—you can easily switch between them by clicking “BCG Students” or “BCG Experienced” in the top navigation bar.

You’re welcome to apply for roles on either portal. Your applications and interviews will be visible across both, regardless of which one you used to apply.

Interview Scheduling & Logistics

The candidate should contact their recruiter to reschedule the interview.

The candidate can log in to their Eightfold portal. Under “My Interviews” or “My Events,” if the location has been specified, it will appear in the interview details.

You will find out who your interviewers are on the day of your interview. Due to client commitments, our interviewers are subject to change at short notice.

The candidate should get in touch with their recruiter. The candidate will receive a new email containing an updated assessment link, along with the scheduled date and time. The new link will also have its own reset expiration timeline.

For some interviews and events, you’ll be asked to choose a time slot via a link sent by email. If the link isn’t working or you’re unable to access the scheduling page, please contact your recruiter as soon as possible so they can assist you.

Selecting a time confirms your intent and commitment to attend, so it’s important to resolve any issues promptly

Offers & Post-Offer Actions

If the candidate is selected for a position, the recruiter will inform them when the offer letter will be drafted and sent.

If the candidate declines the offer, the process for that application ends. If the candidate does not respond to the offer, the recruiter may reach out to them.

The candidate should contact their recruiter to request a change to the start date.

Events

You can review the status of your application by logging in to our candidate portal here.

Once signed in, select the “My Application” tab to view the status of your application.

You can view your registered events by clicking on the ‘My Events’ tab in the top navigation bar.

Please note that registering does not guarantee a place at every event, so be sure to check your email for confirmation and further details from our events team.
Below are the possible event statuses you may see:
  1. Registered – you have registered to the event but please note, you may not be guaranteed a place. Please refer to your event email for more information.

  10. Not Attended - You did not attend this event, despite accepting the invitation.

Creating a profile helps us confirm your eligibility to attend certain events – some may be designed for current students, others for individuals with specific skills or experience.

You only need to complete your profile once, and the information you provide will also be used if you choose to apply for jobs in the future.
