BCG Circles
Mentoring Program for Women
Are you an aspiring woman with a strong interest in consulting and studying at a Swiss university? If that sounds like you,  join our six-month mentoring program from October 2022 to March 2023! 

Read on to learn more.
This program aims at building and expanding the foundation of your career. We will meet once a month (virtually or in person) and discuss a variety of topics. Our meetings a.k.a. "circles" include exclusive insights into the work of consultants and BCG, skill workshops, and a case study practice session. Of course, you will also have one-to-one career mentoring conversations that are fully based on your needs, questions, and future interests.

Each individual "circle" consists of up to eight mentees and will be guided by two seasoned BCG consultants. This is a unique opportunity to boost your career and build a network with other passionate and like-minded women. Seize the chance to gain unique insights into BCG’s work and culture by joining our BCG Circles mentoring program!

To make sure we cover cities all over Switzerland, the BCG Circles will always take place both in Zurich and Geneva, based on your preferences and location. Please indicate in your motivational letter which city would be convenient for you.

October 13: Kick-off meeting
From 18 until 21.30 hrs. In-person at the BCG office Zurich or Geneva.

We will get together for an interactive and fun session to meet your mentors and co-mentees and answer all questions you might have about the program. You will learn and decide with your group on how to get the maximum out of the next six months for your growth!
October 21: Insights to BCG
From 8 until 11.30 hrs. In-person at the BCG office in Zurich or Geneva.

During this workshop, we will give you a 360° view of what it means to work at BCG. We will discuss and solve a case study before learning more about the nature of real project work, career tracks, and growth opportunities at BCG.
There will be ample time to ask the consultants all your hard-hitting questions.

1-1 Career Mentoring
Scheduled individually. In-person or virtual.

Besides the group meetings, you will get the opportunity to have individual coaching sessions with your BCG mentor fully based on your needs, questions, and future interests. This can be anything: Figuring out your next career steps, discussing different paths, or simply practicing a case study together.
November 18: Case Study Workshop
From 8.30 until 11.30 hrs.
In-person at the BCG office Zurich or Geneva.

During this workshop, you will crack a case study with your peers and get insights into the thinking and skills that are required as a consultant. Solving a tough business problem is the ideal opportunity to sharpen your analytical and strategic skills while also having fun collaborating with your team.

December 8: Skill Building Workshop & Christmas Market
From 18.30 until 22.00 hrs. In-person at the BCG office Zurich or Geneva.

This skill workshop will help you boost specific skills such as negotiation, brand building, or presentation skills.

After the workshop, we will celebrate the season with a cup of Glühwein and some delicacies from the Christmas market.
January & February: #IamRemarkable
Virtual.

#IamRemarkable is a Google initiative empowering women and underrepresented
groups to speak openly about their accomplishments in the workplace and beyond,
​​​​​​​thereby breaking modesty norms and glass ceilings.

You will be divided into groups of 7-8 people and each group will have one interactive workshop.

February 17: Mock Interview Prep Session
From 9 until 11 hrs. Virtual.

We will prepare you for your mock interviews and not only give you tips & tricks but also a set of tools to make sure you are fully prepared.
March 9: Interview Night & Closing Dinner
From 16.30 until 22.00 hrs. In-person at the BCG office.

We will close the BCG Circles program with a marathon of practicing interviews
​​​​​​​and a fun closing dinner to celebrate six months on a mutual learning curve!

Joining the BCG Circles Program was great fun: I met many talented and fun young ladies and we had a blast in the escape room, but it was also very insightful.

Meet Felicia Artmann, who joined the BCG Circles Program and will start this fall as an Associate at our BCG Zurich office: “Currently completing my master´s degree in business management at the University of St. Gallen and having been keenly interested in consulting, I was very curious to meet like-minded women and learn more about working at BCG and its culture. 

Right from the very start, I felt appreciated and valued as an individual and got to meet many BCGers from various career levels. In the workshops, I interacted with inspiring female students from diverse academic backgrounds. We collaboratively built up our communication and presentation skills and learned about BCG's way of solving problems to create a long-lasting positive impact. Especially the sessions with my mentors helped me not only to learn more about myself but also gave me the chance to ask everything that I wanted to know about working in the group."

Meet Anna, Managing Director & Partner in Zurich.
Anna has long been involved in financial services, with a particular focus on wealth management and private banking. Anna is a member of the Financial Institutions, Strategy and Corporate Development practices and since 2007, has led BCG's Global Wealth Report as one of the key authors. Even at this level of seniority, the importance of receiving and providing mentoring has a huge impact on Anna's development at BCG. Watch the video to find out how. 
Meet Francesca, a Consultant at the Zurich office. Whilst pursuing her Master’s in Mechanical Engineering at ETH Zurich, she joined the BCG Circles Program. She had always been fascinated by consulting and wanted to find out more. During this six-month mentoring program, Francesca was able to get a real taste of BCG’s working environment. Meet Martin, a Consultant at the Zurich office.
After finishing his Master's Degree at the University of St. Gallen in Accounting & Finance, Martin joined BCG in 2019 and has gained experience working for clients in Industrial Goods, Financial Services and Private Equity.
